Ell as stand alones just know that some of the etails from the previous books will be givenI received a complimentary copy of this book to review I was asked to give my honest opinion of the book which I have Women's Activism and Social Change Rochester New York 1822 1872 done 4 STARSSimpson Creek Texas July 7 1868 is the setting Brides of Simpson creek book 6 This is the only of the series I love interesting characters with a back story and this book is filled with them As a fan of romances where the characters have a believable conflict stopping them from immediately falling into each others arms this book made myay The author Laurie Kingery has a very pleasant writing style and a nice way of making her characters interesting I loved Violet from the very beginning Rather than coming across as stuffy and uppity the way that many female lead characters The Western Scar: The Theme of the Been-To in West African Fiction do in romance novels she was a likeable character immediately Similarly Raleigh was also a likable character and the kind of hero you want in a romance Simpson Creek is a nice setting and the people there make you wish you could go live amongst them I was involved in this novel from the first chapter I particularly enjoyed the way the author built up the suspense for the reader of not knowing who Violet would end up with and whatecision she would make One of the things that made this book stand out from the other romance novels I have read recently was the Understanding Shutter Speed descriptions You get so much than just a basic sense of the setting through vibrant and colorful language I could picture everything the author was saying as if there were a movie playing in my mind s eye I thought the ending was good and was pleased with the resolution for all of theifferent situations I would The Mother I Carry: A Memoir of Healing from Emotional Abuse definitely read another book by this author and encourage other romance lovers to check this out as well This review is based on aigital ARC from the publisher This story follows the relationship of Violet and Raleigh They come from two Anthology of Articles on African Linguistics and Literature different worlds yet seem to be attracted to each other at first site Violet is from England where she lived a very plush life Raleigh is a farm hand in Texas When Violet is sent to Texas to live with her brother she meets Raleigh and how they come to know each other is the whole of the story I gave this book 45 stars I thought the idea of the story was a great one How the characters meet and get to know each other is entertaining The problems started with the main character of Violet who was a bit confusing She could be bold at times and then be very weak at others Iid like the minor characters and thought they helped the story flow The character of Drew a man who steps in and wants to marry Violet was written the best The biggest problem with the story was there were not enough interactions between Violet and Raleigh There was just too much introspection and not enough conversations I The Writing Workshop do think the story itself is cute though and worth a readI would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read This is a great series This time we get to meet the sister of the original groom who came from England Nice to catch up with previous brides and see the good that has come to their lives and to see that there will than likely be books comingue to still single ladies in the Spinster s club. Ever stay He has no business falling for the beautiful aristocrat But soon Violet makes a place for herself in the Hill Country and in his heart Now if only he can convince her that she belongs there foreve.
I receieved this book from Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review This book is a very sweet little romance novel that focuses on a love at first sight theme The Violet has been sent to visit relative in Texas after she finds herself embroiled in a scandalous romance with an unsuitable fellow Instead of being bitter and angry about being parted from her lover she sees the entire experience as a lark something she can use as a basis for the novel she wants to writeThe fact that the first cowboy Violet lays eyes on is hot sweet mannered and generous makes the separation from the love of her life even easierThough he Agricultural Engineering denies it Raleigh the cowboy Violet first encounters is immediately smitten While he s a great guy I found him to be a little too innocent to the point he sometimes struck me as being a shadeumbWhat really impressed me with the story was how well Ms Kingery handled the narrative She managed to make each line sound like it either came from the upper class English woman or the not so rough and tumble cowboy I was very impressedThe author Distant Echoes Finding Keys To Life After Abuse did a great job of making each interaction between the two count towards advancing the plot and she created a very vivid settingObjectively I can see all the great things this book has to offer but no matter how much I tried I just couldn t get into it There were entire sections I found to be cheesy instead of romantic I gave it a four star review because I think this was simply a case of the story and I not being a good combination and not a case of the book being badly written or a weak plot As I began reading this book I realized that I knew the back story to a couple of characters I was pleased to realize that I had read the first book in this series about Milly and NickIn Hill Country Cattleman Violet has beenelivered to Texas by her older brother Edward She has barely escaped a big scandal in England and Edward is hoping that some time in Texas with their brother Nick will make Violet realize that the man she thinks she loves is not worthy of herViolet believes she will only be in Texas for a while and then will return to her true love As time passes and she meets Raleigh Masterson Violet must How Debuggers Work Algorithms Data Structures and Architecture determine the trueesires of her heart As she learns what it truly means to live for God where will He guide herHill Country Cattleman was a very enjoyable and well written story It is full of wonderful characters and an exciting story line There is romance An Alien Heat danger adventure and likeable characters Even though I had only read the first in the series and this book is the sixth I had no trouble at all following along It can easily be read as a stand alone I plan to read the other books in this series as wellI received this book from the author when I won a giveaway on I was not reuired to write a review but happilyo so Before Lady Violet Brookfield falls into The Alchemy of Culture: Intoxicants in Society disgrace in England she it brought to her brother s ranch in Simpson Creek Texas Violet pines for her love but is thrilled to experience the West With her first hand observations she can write her novel Meeting Foreman Raleigh Masterson adds to the amusement of Texas He can share local information with her and be a friend as she lives temporarily away from home A beautiful fish out of water is a fun theme to read Violet might be from England but sh. A Match Made in TexasTo escape a scandal in England Violet Brookfield is sent to her brother's ranch in Texas Soon sheiscovers that the vibrant new world and rugged trail boss Raleigh Masterson are perfec.
