T he makes some bad decisions that made me want to throw my Kindle across the room But it was the growth of both characters over time that made this book so wonderful The book is a slower read spanning 30 years of their lives But it was incredibly engaging and beautiful I highly recommend it 45 It has been a while since I ve read Jennifer Weiner and Who Do You Love is exactly what I expected and I loved every age of itWho Do You Love is the kind of romance that sneaks up on you Andy and Rachel meet when they are 8 years old They are both in the hospital Andy for a broken arm and Rachel for a heart defect For her the hospital is home away from home but eventually she could lead a healthy life They become friends and over a 30 year span they meet The Dreamer Wakes (The Story of the Stone periodically and even moved in together at oneoint but it didn t work out Andy is an accomplished runner and Rachel keeps up with his Rivers Last Longer public life but never contacts him Andy thinks of Rachel and how easy it was to be with her and talk to her It s whimsical when they think of each other as their lives have taken differentaths There are times that I had a lovehate relationship with both of these characters throughout the book because of their decisions Isn t that the beauty of reading when you get immersed into the lives of the characters Their lives had drifted so far apart I couldn t wait to see how this story ended A very satisfying read 3 That should be Whom I wish I could give this book 25 stars Three is being generousGood in Bed is my all time favourite Jennifer Weiner book But oh how the mighty have fallenWhat genre is this book The first half of it is a YA novel the second half is mostly about sportsOh and let s throw in a few gratuitous sex scenes to make it a bodice ripper Okay they were not that badIn reading this I didn t care much for the character of Rachel In the beginning she is ortrayed as a rotagonist she suffers from a heart defect and then most of her childhood is spent in hospitals She and Andy meet again at camp and begin their love story But then teen Rachel becomes a bully and the vicious side of her appears Andy leaves her Strike OneThey reconnect a few years later Then when Andy is visiting her at college Rachel cares about her sorority than in Andy He leaves and they break up againStrike TwoThey reconnect a few years later Notice a The Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook: Great-Tasting Recipes that Keep You Lean! pattern After the tragedy of 911 Rachel moves in with Andy as he is training for the Olympics But the nastyart of Rachel shows up again and she ends things again with himStrike ThreeAnd yet the book continuesThe side stories of racial intolerance Witchcraft for Tomorrow poverty growing upoor in single family homes are all lot oints that made the story even confusing I think that Andy s story minus Rachel would have been book worthy in it s own rightI finished it to say I finished it but after the brilliance of Good in Bed I can honestly say this now will be my last Jennifer Weiner boo. Y and Rachel will find each other again and again until they are finally given a chance to decide whether love can surmount difference and distance and if they've been running toward each other all alongWith honesty wit and clear eyed observations about men and women love and fate and the truth about happy endings Jennifer Weiner delivers two of her most memorable characters and a love story you'll never forg.
Nest uality What I adored most of all was that through everything they kept finding their way back to one another My only wish an epilogue I wanted Andy and Rachel Who Do You Love is a women s fiction novel written by author Jennifer Weiner This is a likable love story that takes the long way around so to speak The The Wedding Redux pace is slow which unfortunately affected how consistently engaged I felt and the characters weren t developed in a way that caused me to feel much investment in them There were however interesting elements written into the their individual stories such as family medical cultural religious economic and racial dy I hate to do it but this one was just a little better than OK for me 25 3 stars so I rounded up The story was one I feel has been done many times and lacked the humorous dialogue I m used to in Weiner s writing 2 kids meet in a hospital for a brief time become friendsstart dating in high school Each chapter is one of their stories and while interesting inarts so Andy s story than Rachel s it kind of Rolling Thunder plodded along They fall in love life gets in the way so they break up meet up again as adults get back togetherlife break up etc The last chapter was soredictable I skimmed it to the last sentence I really wanted to like this one and it hasn t turned me off Weiner s writing altogether but I really hope she gets back to funnier contemporary romance she does so well It has been several years since I ve read a Jennifer Weiner book and I would normally categorize her books as fluffy chick lit Well Weiner has upped her game and blew me away with her new novel This is not a fluffy beach read to me This was a heartfelt emotional story about the great love of two individuals who find out that love isn t always enough and sometimes life takes you down a different Ye Castle Stinketh: Could You Survive Living in a Castle? path than you ever imaginedThey meet in a hospital when they are kids Rachel has a heart condition that meant she spent a lot of time in the hospital growing up and Andy happens to be in the ER one night because of an arm injury In that very shorteriod of time together they leave a lasting impression on each other The book follows both of their aths into adulthood where they cross into each others lives several times And although they have a very deep love for each other they are very different ersonalities Bootie and the Beast proving that love isn t easy and things don t always work out how you envision themThere were a lot of times throughout this book where I was angry or frustrated at things both Andy and Rachel did Sometimes Rachel seemed a little selfish to me but as I watched her grow up and go through things we all do as adults I understood her better and felt sympathy towards her situations Andy grew up with a single mother who worked all the time and my heart broke for him as a child I was almost in tears at the beginning of this book just reading his story and the things he went through Later as an adul. Chel the belovedopular and rotected daughter of two doting arents grows up wanting for nothing in a fancy Florida suburb Andy grows up oor in Philadelphia with a single mom and a rare talent that will let him become one of the best runners of his generationOver the course of three decades through high school and college marriages and divorces from the innacles of victory and the heartbreak of defeat And.
OMG This blurb gave me SHIVERS Holy wow It s described as an unforgettable story about true love real life and second chances Rachel Blum and Andy Landis are just eight years old when they meet one night in an ER waiting room Born with a congenital heart defect Rachel is a veteran of hospitals and she s intrigued by the boy who shows up alone with a broken arm He tells her his name She tells him a story After Andy s taken back to a doctor and Rachel s sent back to her bed they think they ll never see each other Let me start by saying that I love Jennifer Weiner s writing I really do I love it This novel however is not one of her best Upper middle class Rachel and The Art of Mary Beth Edelson poverty stricken Andy meet by accident in a hospital waiting room when they are children Their lives keep intersecting seemingly at random as they grow to adulthood Theremise is that their love and in such instances they re bound to fall in love right is meant to be This lot is trite and frankly it s been done before The sex scenes too and they re inevitable as well aren t they are clunky and wooden Overall this is a disappointing effort If you d like to start reading Jennifer Weiner I recommend that you begin with any of her other books This one is not exemplary of her work Who Do You Love is the story of a fortunate girl with a heart roblem and a boy who turns to running when everything else seems outside of his control And between Rachel and Andy there are Motivational Perspectives on Chronic Pain plenty of times where it s appropriate to uestion who DO you love I ve felt like the multierspective stories have been having a moment over the last several years and for the most art this book just seems to blend in with the rest in terms of its style What it does do especially well is rogress through the timeline Since this story takes None Like Him: 10 Ways God Is Different from Us (and Why That's a Good Thing) place over the span of about 30 years it could have been easy to make the story feel drawn out or boring inarts But through some great structuring and some truly uniue acing I never once felt that there were lulls in terms of my own interest in the story What did I think Although I know I m reading this one a bit later than many I felt that it was one that has somehow flown under the radar for some others of us For that reason it was a leasant surprise to be asked to read this one and I can t wait to share it with others Who should read it If you like love stories that don t follow any traditional formulas I highly recommend you spend some time with this oneWEBSITE TWITTER FACEBOOK INSTAGRAM You have my heart Who What Do You I Love This book I couldn t ut it downThere were times I was happy giddy and excited for Andy and Rachel But there were other times I was really upset and disappointed with the choices they made Isn t that life though I think that s one of the reasons why I enjoyed this so much it felt genuine Being riddled with the ups and downs that any relationship goes through lent the story an ho. Rachel Blum and Andy Landis are eight years old when they meet late one night in an ER waiting room Born with a congenital heart defect Rachel is a veteran of hospitals and she's intrigued by the boy who shows up all alone with a broken arm He tells her his name She tells him a story After Andy's taken back to the emergency room and Rachel's sent back to her bed they think they'll never see each other againRa.
