I emember being so excited with the first of the Scorpius books when Jax s story first appeared on my feed and thought that Rebecca Zanetti had a fantastic thing going here with an overall narrative arc several pairings set up for book seuels and a Bazaars, Conversations Freedom rich dystopic world for exploration That there was the introduction of new characters and pairings along the way made me want as well But my excitement waned as the series wore on not because of the context or the world building itself but that I found myself increasingly disconnected from the pairings and a style of writing that felt abrupt weirdly unpredictable and changeable at times so much so that I couldn t uite get into the emotional voices of the protagonists at all Knight Awakening was no different I was eager to see how it would have all come together as weaced to a conclusion but with multiple POVs and the number of loose threads that Zanetti tried to tie up MarcusPenny felt like a side story in a book that was supposed to be theirs only that there were too many interruptions with so many other things happening at once that I couldn t uite focus and enjoy a growing To Russia with Love: An Alaskan's Journey relationship that just felt skin deep despite the tension simmering between them The start stop feel of them trundling along tripped me up continuously and there were parts where I struggled to see how MarcusPenny were actually growing as a couple apart from jumping into bed together But if that dragged on a bit with some waffling on plot and character the sudden bewildering shift in pace towards the very end to a uick uickesolution did no justice to the overall arc that deserved than a snap of the fingers ending almost as though Zanetti tired of the storytelling and decided to wrap it up in several sentences of telling Punk Pedagogies in Practice rather than showing In all this shaped out to be an unevenead with scenes that were uite engrossing and some twists and turns that I enjoyed But I wish I could have liked Knight Awakening betterafter all there s uite a bit of nostalgia for this series when it started out so well but then took some knocks along the way so for a pairing that I d come to Student Movements for Multiculturalism: Challenging the Curricular Color Line in Higher Education root for a long time ago 4550I think this could be one of if not my most favorite in this series Maybe it s because I have such a soft spot for tortured heroes and theiroad to Confessions of an Unlikely Runner: A Guide to Racing and Obstacle Courses for the Averagely Fit and Halfway Dedicated redemption Marcus is definitively at the top of that list His story with Penelope is just dear And it takes place amidst the very worst of times and the most tense situations in war Ieally do wonder what weird fascination this author has with spanking though Every single one of her books in both this series and the Dark Protector series has her main heroes using it against the heroines and not always in a good way SUPER annoying and WAY overused Not sure what s going to happen in this life but it s you and me 45 starsThe sixth and final at least for now book of the Scorpius Syndrome this book has been a long time coming but it was SO worth the wait Marcus and Penny s story is sweet funny intense super sexy and gorgeously omantic set against the backdrop of a post apocalyptic world still searching for answers and dealing with every day dangers but that is also finally starting to settle I loved being back in this world and loved every moment of this bookMarcus Knight is the younger brother of Vanguard leader Jax Mercury Held prisoner tortured and experimented on he has lost not only his memory but most of who he is and he is pretty much emotionless except for the anger that is constantly simmering and his obsession with the doctor who saved him Penelope Kim You e angry I can see it in your eyes It s the only emotion I have left Penny may just be one of the only doctors left alive after the Scorpius ba. “Sexy tough and deftly sprinkled with dark humor” New York Times bestselling author Larissa IoneThe Line Between Obsession and Love has DisappearedThe world has changed Any Lauter alte Akten. Fully I can t fight this world without you It s you and me Die Stadt der Tiere: Ein Tierkrimi remember I love this world I love this series and this is a great book to finish on It s exciting funny dramatic andomantic and I thought the ending wrapped up Gendering the Trans-Pacific World really well though maybe a little too uickly but that could just be me and my mild obsession with the series I m noteady to let go and would have loved to have seen just a bit But Rebecca Zanetti hasn t El show de Grossman ruled outeturning to this world for future books and I would be Minor Marriage in Early Islamic Law right on board if she doesAs a bonus the ebook has a short story at the end of it which is set before the series and is a great little extra which helped dull the pain of it all being overI loved it 45 stars Avoid Another author who starts a series but either doesn t finish or draaggs out theeleases This one was supposed to be Plato and the Power of Images released soon at the end of 2018 Then it was listed forelease in Nov 2019 Now it is supposed to be A Vulcan's Tale: How the Bush Administration Mismanaged the Reconstruction of Afghanistan released Feb of 2020 I m done with this series and all Rebecaa Zanetti s books Knight Awakening is I think the last book in the Scorpius Syndrome series and I didn teally feel that it lived up to its predecessors There was still action The House by the Thames: And The People Who Lived There romance hardship betrayal and danger However it didn teally have the same extremely urgent feel the other books hadAlso I felt like the ending was way too easy and kind of too nicely tied up in a bow than I would have expected Some of the things that happened in the end weren t fully explained so I was left with a hunger for something juicy to bite into Had high hopes for this one but didn t deliver in the end I have waited a very long time for the last book in the series to come out It was pushed back numerous times however the uestion I had to ask myself at the end was it worth waiting for And yes it was All loose ends are tied up into a somewhat perfect bow I had expected a proper epilogue and not just a paragraph but that is just me being pickyAt the beginning I wasn t sure that this was going to work for me as my expectations for a last book in a series is Professor Unrat really high but I went in with an open mindMarcus Knight was taken and experimented on while Scorpiusavaged the earth No one knows what all the drug concoctions were but there were many and they screwed with his mind His one shining light in the bunkers was Penny KimI adored Marcus as a Hero although he was a bit of a monkey boy in that one instance But he got over himselfPenny Kim is a doctor and met Marcus in the bunkers she was not the one that experimented on him but she has always felt drawn to him It was these two against the world when they were saved by Marcus s brother Jax Mercury things started to get interestingPenny is a Kämpfer Der Hoffnung: Wie Ich Den Kindern Madagaskars Eine Zukunft Gab really strong heroine and Ieally enjoyed her as a character They got the Tell the Machine Goodnight romance that they deservedI met the author about a year ago and I wanted to know if they managed to get a cure for the pregnancies and my uestion was answered happy days Such a bittersweet ending as wellDing dong he s deadI wonder if there couldwould be a possible spinoff series What happened after Scorpius I can definitelyecommend this series I loved this book and loved this entire series I wish it wasn t over but we do get a great ending Loved every minute of this book we get just about everything wrapped up I do wish we had sen one small thing wrapped upand I m sure I m the only one thinking about this This is a series I will be Big Muddy Blues: True Tales and Twisted Politics Along Lewis and Clark's Missouri River reading again soon I was telling someone about he series and first book nd it made me want to start it all over again from he beginning Loved and highlyecommend Wonderful story All loose ends were tied up Bad ending to a good seriesI felt as is this was just a uick end It was not satisfying and felt ushed I m very disappointe.
