I m oing to be completely honest and say I didn t have very high expectations for this book However I am so Erziehen ohne auszurasten: Wie ich aufhörte, meine Kinder anzuschreien - und wie Sie das auch schaffen glad Grimes proved me wrong While there were a few downsides to WINTER S WOLF I can confidently say that there is an incredible amount of potential in this book and with a bit polishing it could be sitting center shelf in Barnes and Noble Characters Sassy The biggest word I would use to describe Louvette s character I really enjoyed reading this novel from her perspective learning about Whitefish through her eyes The relationship she and her mother have is a deep friendship almost because of the pain their little family had been put through She was a bit unpredictable in the beginning with starting fistfights and judging Cara only to be a bitirly in the next sentence I would have liked a bit development with both her and Cara s relationship Louvette could have been walled off to Cara who would then break down those walls with her unconditional friendship PlotMagic System By far my most favorite aspect of this novel would be the magic system While it revolves solely around Lupine s and other animal species as well as witches that I hope to see in book two there is so much keen description of how they came to be and the promise of future magical creatures that I can t help but sit on the edge of my seat for book two The plot was definitely interesting but I would have liked consistency with the antagonist He only really revealed himself as said role at the very end which isn t a problem but there weren t enough mentions of his character that I would have felt anything at the revelation Sure he was creepy but if Louvette had had interactions that would have solidified him in my mind as someone with an actual role in the story Romance I love Arsen Usually in indie books the vulnerability between two characters in a relationship is missed But when Louvette felt overly stressed with her new identity I like how she knew there was always someone to run to that would have her back Typically I enjoy of a slow burn in relationships While that was absent here I did enjoy reading their moments What would have been better in my opinion for building up the momentum between them would be to have Louvette distrust him completely at first In the beginning she had struck me as the walled off character but that wasn t very consistent with her Scala High Performance Programming girlish personality later on Writing This is what mainly lowered my review to 35 instead of 5 stars and what needed the most polishing The pacing felt too choppy though it developed as Grimes wrote one of my favorite things to see in books is the development of an author s writing There was description that I really really thought was well done only it was put in a way that made it choppy or it just didn t seem to lead well with the pacing While WINTER S WOLF could use some line edits I didn t feel the sentences took away from the book too much until the climax when the pacing should be different to invoke the suspense Conclusion Worth the read I haven t read the Twilight series but the magic system minus vampires is very similar and I think fans of that series will enjoy the nice escape offered by WINTER S WOLFFinalrade 355 I was not expecting how much I loved this story It brought back all my feelings and love for the paranormal world It Prayogshala Nepali Sankramanma Dilli Ra Maobadi (प्रयोगशाला नेपाली सङ्क्रमणमा दिल्ली, दरबार र माओवादी) gives me some Linger vibes Maggie Stiefvater however it has much action and the characters are super easy to connect with Louvette s relationship with her mother and her best friend Cara is so well portrayed I found myselfiggling with them at their playful jokes and fun times Cara was definitely my favorite character I was eager to read about herAlso could this book make me any hungry I found myself salivating at how well the author described the delicious meals that Louvette and her mother shared as a wolf shifter she reuires a lot of energy I loved the romance in this story it was fluid and easy to fall in love alongside the characters However at times the turn of events and the culprits seems a bit predictable the shape shifter story could have been introduced to Louvette in a suspenseful way her seeing a wolf outside her house watching her etc instead of a uestion answer session I was AMAZED at how well the author described the moments when she is her wolf I could vividly imagine her mind as a wolf blurry in the background and focused on instincts I absolutely loved when she was wolf Some Spoilers below I am very excited to read book 2 I hope it will Charlie the Caterpillar give of a background story to Emily Bonesteel as well to Hollows and his motives which I m super curious about I am also excited to read about the pack life how they behave will they accept Louvette into their pack I also hope to find out about other packs and why they would want to steal her For marriage for a pure blood line All these uestions The impact of the sucker punch sent Louvette to theround hard Pain flared across her cheek as it split The effects of her adrenaline paused as her mother’s words of warning replayed in her mind Make this school last until raduation She knew this would break her mother’s heartA shout that did not come from her mother took her back to present reality She hadn’t started this fight but she knew she wasn’t oing to let her butt Pure Land Buddhism in Modern Japanese Culture get stomped either She jumped up Her fist balled as a blonde pixie of airl came at her Louvette dodged her this time and swung her fist straight into the irl’s nose A solid crunch sounded as

Hat the next books will be much better and I can t wait to read the next books in the Cursed series Thank you to the author and MMB tours for the copy and the chance to read and review this one This ends on a soft cliffhanger So I am about to start the seuel as I uite enjoyed the first bookUnfortunately the romance was uninspiring But there was lots of other things I liked about the storyLouvette is a 17 year old irl raised by her single mother Sarah They have spent the last 17 years moving from town to town across the southern US until Louvette learns that she is the heir to a Traditions Of Maimonideanism (Ijs Studies In Judaica) grandfather she never knew and he was murderedSo they travel to a small town in Montana where herrandfather was a town founder along with a 3 other families Once there Louvette discovers that she isn t as human as she thoughtLouvette s a bit of a special snowflake but she s also practical and level headed I loved her relationship with her mother Her relationship with the boy and her Kemilau Cinta - Brighter Than the Sun girlfriend didn t ring as true I liked the world building which was a little different from other shifter stories The story is full of mysteries like who murdered herrandfather and what happened to her fatherThere s also a suggestion of political maneuvering to come And plenty of shady characters To be honest it s pretty obvious what happened to her father about halfway in but the author intended that and it will be interesting how it plays out in the next bookIt s a safe story and pg for now view spoilerArsen yes that s his name don t worry it will be explained and Louvette only kiss a few times No idea if he s a virgin Louvette is but has been kissed before She moved around too much to have any relationships There s an OW wannabe Emily that Arsen has apparently been avoiding for years So she s no competition but she may prove to be vindictive in the next book hide spoiler Moving from one school to other wasn t something new for Louvette Lynske all thanks to her high temper Her mother Sarah Lynske is seriously disappointed knowing her daughter records that she ll face hard time to et up into any school Being a single mother with no other support feels like failing to herLouvette never ot any chance to have a Red November: Inside the Secret U.S.-Soviet Submarine War glimpse of her father or other family members ever in her life until one a family lawyer introducing himself as close friend to her father announces that herrandfather was murdered few weeks ago had left a A Silent Ocean Away: Colette's Dominion good amount of inheritance for her as few days prior her birth her father went missing was never foundReaching to her real hometown had been a completely different experience as this town was kind of small and snow fall happens to be here for real which she loves Her family house was so big that her own room was bigger than the flats she d lived in which all the facilities for a relaxed lifeOne day while hanging out with her mother she crosses her path with a boy Arsen whose eyes changes colours something inside her just shakes very hard as if sth inside her is being challenged Soon she s admitted into a private school where she againets eye contact with the same boy same thing happens again She The Magic Question gets dragged by the boy to just to find out she isn t a normalirl she is also a Lupinekind of werewolf she must keep it a secret Although she is irritated with the A Writer's Reference with Writing about Literature with 2009 MLA and 2010 APA Updates guy s behaviour too much of secrets she needs to find out about her fatherrandfather also it s hard to main distance fro the uy as he s really charmingThe book overall was really a ood read Just that I expected it to be a high fantasy but it was of a light read fantasy with teenager romance Also I loved some new concepts introduced with creatures unlike just copy pasting the theories from old books Winter s Wolf is a YA paranormal and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it I was pulled in from the beginning and was uickly turning the pages to find out what was oing to happen next I really liked the main character Louvette my only issue is that she is too uick to be okay with everything that is happening I don t know about you but if a person I didn t know dug their claws into my arm iving me cuts so deep that I should have had stitches I would not be OK It s been awhile since I ve read a werewolf book and overall it was An Audience of Artists: Dada, Neo-Dada, and the Emergence of Abstract Expressionism good full of action suspense mystery and young love I m really looking forward to book 2 Winter s Wolf is the first book in The Cursed series I wasn t sure what to expect when Iot this book but it turned out to be pretty ood The story concept is interesting and I enjoyed the characters The author does a ood job of building suspense so it keeps you reading There are a few places where the story breaks down a bit but I think this series has promise One of the things that caught me in this book are the names of the characters I don t know why it stood out but the names really fit this book wellOverall a Aristotle's Rhetoric: An Art of Character good read. Mallory began to beg immediately spawning an eye roll from Louvette She was a whiny beggar Just one of many B words that could describe her to a T but it was the nicest one that Louvette could think of Her pleading stopped as they arrived at the door of the principal’s office They locked eyes for a second hatred flaring toward each other “I’m first I’m on my third offense and I’m not waiting all day for you toet a slap on the wrist” Louvette said to Tiffany as she darted past her into the office The only thing that stopped her from slamming the door in the B’s face was the creature on the other side of the door.

Ake me super interested and eager for book 2 Dear Winter s WolfThank you for trying to be original and setting yourself up to be different from the rest of the wolf shifter books out in the world The pieces I noticed that were uniue were the following the main character Louvette was the only Anthropology as Cultural Critique: An Experimental Moment in the Human Sciences girl who could shift into a Lupine wolf ever the wolves had uniue powers Fire water future telling illusions etc I also really liked how they delved into the history of shifting blood magic and the other animals that could be shifted into as well and finally I noticed that the shifters when in wolf form were carnivorous poor deer that was a new and exciting element to me when it comes to shifter books Soood for you Now the critical stuff The beginning started off REALLY strong I was intrigued Lou Anaphora and Conceptual Structure got kicked out of school she had so much aggression built up there was a death the whodunnit mystery really interested me and then weot to meet the bad boy wolf boy Arsen who was the book s saving Between Silences grace in my opinion But what happened to you Your writingot lazy your story Betrayals got repetitive and nothing everot resolved in the end Yes we found out who the killer of the rogue Betrayals: The Unpredictability of Human Relations grandfather was but 1 We still don t know if Declan Lou s father is dead or not 2 There was no justice served for the killer the reveal was lackluster and Lou was like oh You re the killer That sucks 3 WHY IS SHE STILL LETTING THE KILLER COME NEAR HER MOM AND NOT TELLING HER MOM ABOUT IT That part really disturbs meI think I just wanted so much out of this book because I really wanted a wolf shifter book to pull me out of my PNR rut since The Awakened Series by Amanda Carol I was rooting for this book but in the end it just didn t do it for me Thank you to the publisher the author and MMTB Book Tour for inviting me on this reading journey in exchange for an honest review SincerelyBradPS Final rating for me is a 25 but I rounded it up to a 3 because I was curious as to how the series isoing to end 4 StarsWinter s Wolf is the first book in The Cursed series and debut novel for Lou Grimes This story sets the series off to a Bat Ode great start and is definitely a series I will be following closely The book is so much than just a paranormal young adult werewolf story there is a bit of drama murder mystery suspense action adventure the paranormal shifterswerewolves self discovery family friendship romance and The world building is richly detailed and Lou Grimes has a very descriptive and dynamic style to her writing If this book is anything too by the rest of the series is set to be Bitter Choices: Blue-Collar Women in and out of Work greatAnd did I mention WEREWOLVES winning youhadmeatwerewolfCan t wait to see what happens from hereThank you Lou Grim What an awesome book I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend Louvette is this teenageirl who continually ets kicked out of schools for etting into fights which causes her and her mother to live around a lot The 2 ladies are just about to pack up and leave town when a man named Thomas Hollows shows up to tell her that her Beyond Redemption: Race, Violence, and the American South after the Civil War grandfather recently was murdered and has left everything to her Her and her mom move up to Montana where she now has a new name and finally a place to call home She soon meets up with this boy named Arsen and he explains to her that she is a Lupine werewolf and is the only female of her kind From then on it s trying to find her way and to make sure she stays safe since she is the only one left of her family Can t wait for the rest of the story to unfold 35 HOWLING STARS This is the story of Louvette who s been very troublesome and as a result she setting kicked out of several schools One day a lawyer shows up and tells them that she s in the will of her absent Blank Darkness: Africanist Discourse in French grandfather who left them his house and everything else so they move out ando to this small town A small town where she can have a new start a chance to change her life but what happens when secrets come to the surface and some extraordinary things start to occur My thoughts about this book are very mixed On one hand I really enjoyed the plot I thought that it was uniue and refreshing and I loved all the new information and how it went against the normal werewolf things we know and added some new elements I really liked the world building that this author created It reminded me of Teen Wolf but with a heroine instead and with uniue powers These were my favorite parts of the story What I didn t enjoy as much was the writing because it seemed immature to me The dialogues were all over the place and sometimes things were passed so fast and like nothing big happened when it was a crucial moment for our heroine Maybe if I had read this book when I was younger I would have enjoyed it much but at the time being I could tell that this was a debut and that the author didn t have much experience But that s totally normal and we Back to the Breast: Natural Motherhood and Breastfeeding in America grow and I m sure Er attack landed Her momentary satisfaction was thrown off along with her balance as theirls fell to the round A large arm separated them apart as the coach finally arrived to do his job They continued to kick at each other looking like barrel monkeys hanging off a barrel “Break it up Lynskey and Mallory report to the principal’s office immediately” snapped Coach No Clue No clue what his name was because she hadn’t been in his class or let alone the whole school of Farwell long enough to learn it She was dragged down the hallway toward the principal’s office than reported to it The ueen B otherwise known as Tiffany.
